| Any comment on the merger of Centurylink and Qwest? |

Hypothetically, if I were a Qwest employee, I think I'd be, in theory, thrilled at the chance to be working for a telecommunications company again.
Of course, if I were a Qwest employee, I couldn't comment in any way, so I certainly wouldn't be able to post anything, even anonymously, on a public board... |

| In my area, Centurylink seems to provide DSL services to almost everyone. I see fiber nodes and DSLAMS all over. They also advertise often and seem to be in the public's eye alot. I actually am quite excited. |

| Just looking through some of the service maps for both companies. Washington, Oregon and Colorado have plenty of territory for both companies. Other states east of the Mississippi have no changes. |

Century's website breaks each state down in percentage of DSL capable lines. It does look promising. What you can't see from the statistics is the speed offered. I hope it's not just a large percentage of 256K and 512K.
Century is providing video service so you'd have to believe they're delivering decent broadband speeds. This should be an interesting marrigage. |
